Our First Vote Results!

Welcome to the new blog!

It feels good to have a super-permanent place to record what’s happening on the daily here at Seamly.co.

First up: THE VOTE! Here’s the update I posted on Facebook last week.

Vote-#1-Results

“Earlier this week, over two hundred people cast a ballot for the next Seamly.co designs + colorways.

And oh-my-goodness you gave amazing feedback. A few things came up time after time in the suggestions box, and I am 100% taking it to heart. Voila — we are headed in a more concrete (and exciting) direction.

You want, overwhelmingly, two things:

1. More basics. Tees, maxis, racerbacks, leggings, pants, shorts. (And I will heed your requests for longer hemlines!)

2. More versatile options. Like the Versalette and the 4-way maxi dress.

In utter honesty, my aesthetic vision for Seamly.co has been fuzzy. Quirky and weird? Neutral basics? Cocktail dresses? Crazy print leggings only? (I LOVE LEGGINGS. So there’s that.)

The only thing I had clarity on was why. It’s always been about sharing, showing, experiencing this process with you, as much as possible.

So after this inaugural vote, things are starting to look more solid. And it feels right.

Super grateful that you took the time. I love where we are going together.”

SO WHAT ARE WE CREATING NEXT?!

By the time the vote was over, someone had bought up the so-loved heathered grey fabric. Since we use deadstock fabric, there’s no option for ordering more. It’s “out-of-production,” meaning that once it’s gone, it’s gone.

So here’s what’s on deck.

The Maxi-Tee Dress. NAVY + CLEAR BLUE.

The (now) 5-WAY VERSATILE MAXI. BLACK.

Vote-2

Jessica is working on final samples this week (you’ll be glad to hear we’ve added an extra-versatile twist to both pieces!) and fabric arrived yesterday. We’ll keep everyone updated on the process, and in the meantime, two surprise pieces will be launching!

Sending love and thanks,

Kristin
