How I Wear the Convertible Pantsuit

The Convertible Pantsuit has sold out a few times. We’ve been slowly replenishing them at the COsewn factory in Denver, and last week, they shipped to all our friends who pre-ordered! This week they’re available for immediate shipping.

We’re in limited supply ’cause they’re going quick. There are about 15 left in olive, and 25 left in black.

Last week I tried out some new ways to wear (hello, pants!) and photographed in my new-ish studio in Brooklyn. I’m almost 5’8″ and the olive pantsuit is shorter than I like it (I’m a drag-the-ground kinda’ girl when it comes to wide-leg pants). So, you’ll see a hack I did for the tall girls below.

I would LOVE to see how you’re wearing the Convertible Pantsuit out there in the wild! Use tag #seamlyco on Instagram – I’ll share and repost a few so we can all be inspired.

Here goes!

LOOK #1 – Worn as pants with the straps twisted around as a belt / tucked in tank (thrifted) and sandals / Native Clutter necklace.

LOOK #2 – Super simple, but I took the very bottom of the pants (they’re stretchy) and tied them into a simple knot to create a harem-pant look. This is something totally different than what I’ve ever worn, but I think it looks really nice with the basic strap formation on the top. Next time I’ll try a cropped jacket or vest over top.

LOOK #3 – Pants strike again! I haven’t shown off the olive too much, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if I loved it. But once I started playing with it (and seeing how many neutral pieces I had in my closet to pair with it) my mind changed. I really like the oversized crop top with the high waist, and when worn as “pants” I can pull them down a bit to be the length I like.

LOOK #4 – Just a classic, no-frills look. Next time I’ll try a bold, thick belt. I meant to slip on the Stretch Blazer in light grey (but forgot) – I think that would make this 100% work-appropriate.

I used to hate posting photos of myself and what I’m wearing, but the more I do it, the more fun I have — and the more I realize that rules don’t exist and getting dressed is, and should be, fun. It’s one more moment in the day to be creative, on your very personal canvas, and I think that’s something to appreciate.

I’m planning on hosting another Versalette Challenge in the next month or two (yay!). What else would you guys like to see styled / get inspiration on?

Comment with any tutorials / style shoots / community inspiration that you’d like to see!

  1. LOVE this whole post!! More photos of your cute self and what you’re wearing please!! Love the harem pant styling and the pants styling in general. I’m going to try it!

    • Thanks, Tess :) I would love to see what you do with it!!! Always so good!

  2. Would it be possible to have one of these made with a longer inseam? I’m almost 5’11″ and my only holdout in buying is the length…

    • Hi Morgan! Apologies for my so-late reply – unfortunately we only offer in one length at the moment! I do have a few 5’10″ friends that have the pantsuit and say it’s fine lengthwise. Check out the website as well – one of our models is 5’9″ so that may be helpful. :)
